Dear Hiring Manager:
I’m writing about the Administrative Assistant positon with the North Davis Sewer District. This position closes on August 5, 2013.
The last three years I’ve worked at Weber Human Services. I started part time at the information booth, moved to full time adult customer care and then to the addiction and recovery team. Working here I worked in fast paced, high volume, detail oriented customer service position. I also learned to tell people no and answered the suicide crisis line.
While going to school I worked as a correspondent for the Standard Examiner. This was a self-employed position. I attended the West Point City Council meetings and reported on the events and sold the information to the newspaper.
I have also volunteered in my community and children’s school. I understand the work that goes into coordinating staffing arrangements around volunteers. I’ve seen how wonderful the experience can be when everyone does his/her part. I’ve also had to fill in when people couldn’t make their commitments. While working in this aspect of our community I’ve learned the value of gratitude. People are more willing to give their time when they are appreciated.
While working at Bank of Utah I learned how to give clear and accurate information regarding customer service to clients. This focused on protecting the integrity of the account. I like working with people. This job experience did not fit on the time line application, but helped prepare me for a job like this.
Something that sets me apart from other applicants is I’m not on Facebook. I also set goals. I wanted to go to college and now have three semesters left before I graduate with a Communions Degree.
I would like to have an interview and discuss this position face to face.
Thank you,
Angela Westover Hunter
